CMS - Innovative Patient Positioning Technology

I-Beam® from CMS, Inc. is a self-contained mobile patient positioning system that uses ultrasound or other images in the treatment room to confirm the location of target organs or tumors. I-Beam's localization is accomplished with an advanced target imaging tool called CPS Technology. I-Beam is also designed to incorporate other imaging modalities, such as Cone Beam CT and EPIDs as these technologies evolve.

The conventional approach to the day-to-day organ shifts and patient changes is to include in the treatment plan a margin of error, which can expose healthy tissue to radiation. I-Beam enables you to reduce this margin of error significantly.
