The Terason 2000 Ultrasound
System sets the standard for image quality in a
value-priced, portable ultrasound system. The
first ultrasound system on the market that utilizes
a Windows laptop computer back end, the Terason
2000 Ultrasound System includes a standard laptop
PC, Terason's Microsoft Windows-based ultrasound
software, and a SmartProbe™.
The SmartProbe is a transducer connected to a 10
oz. electronics envelope containing the system's
proprietary beamforming hardware. The SmartProbe
connects to the laptop via a standard FireWire® cable.

Design

electronics. The
Terason 2000 is literally an ultrasound system on
a custom-designed silicon chip. Ultrasound-specific
custom chip design results in both incredible efficiency
and flexibility, and enables high-speed computation,
low power consumption, and sophisticated image processing
using software that runs as a standard Windows application.
